Bridge Project Engineer

What You'll Be Doing
- Design transportation structures including highway bridges, retaining walls, and box culverts
- Perform structural analysis and develop design calculations in accordance with applicable codes and standards
- Prepare plans, specifications, technical reports, and construction cost estimates
- Conduct inspections, evaluations, and rehabilitation assessments of existing structures
- Support construction administration activities, including reviewing shop drawings and RFIs
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary project teams to deliver technically sound solutions
- Mentor and develop junior engineering staff
- Assist with project scheduling, budgeting, and client coordination
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a structural emphasis
- Master's degree in Structural Engineering preferred
- 5+ years of bridge engineering experience within a consulting environment
- Experience with bridge design, inspection, evaluation, and rehabilitation projects
- Professional Engineer (PE) or Structural Engineer (SE) license preferred, or actively pursuing licensure
- Familiarity with MicroStation and structural analysis/finite element software
- Strong communication, leadership, and project management skills
- Experience working with transportation agencies and contractors
- Knowledge of Illinois transportation design standards and procedures is highly desirable
