Civil Engineer - Land Development
A growing multidisciplinary consultancy is seeking a Civil Project Engineer to join its land development team in Southeast Louisiana.
This opportunity would suit a civil engineer who wants to expand their technical capabilities, take greater ownership of projects and work alongside experienced professionals across engineering, surveying, landscape architecture and project management.
The Role
You will support the delivery of land development projects across the residential, commercial, industrial and public sectors, contributing to assignments from initial planning and design through permitting and construction.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing civil site designs for land development projects
- Producing grading, drainage, roadway and utility plans
- Preparing technical calculations, reports and construction documents
- Supporting stormwater management and site infrastructure design
- Coordinating with clients, contractors, consultants and regulatory agencies
- Assisting with permitting and approval processes
- Monitoring project schedules, budgets and deliverables
- Conducting site visits and supporting projects during construction
- Working closely with engineers, surveyors, landscape architects and project managers
- Contributing to quality reviews and the successful delivery of multiple projects
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
- PE or ability to obtain
- Approximately 5 or more years of civil engineering or land development experience
- Experience with grading, drainage, utilities, roadways or general site development
- Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D or comparable civil design software
- Understanding of construction plans, calculations and technical documentation
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
- Effective written and verbal communication
- Ability to manage multiple assignments within a collaborative environment
- Interest in progressing toward professional licensure and greater project responsibility
