Title: Civil Estimator
Salary: $140,000 - $200,000 (depending on experience)
Summary:
A well established utility contractor is seeking a Civil Estimator to support a growing portfolio of transmission, distribution, substation and infrastructure projects throughout California and the Western U.S. This role offers the opportunity to lead complex bids, influence estimating strategy, and work directly with senior leadership in a company known for its strong backlog and long-standing client relationships.

Responsibilities:
* Preparing detailed cost estimates for utility construction projects
* Reviewing drawings, specifications, geotechnical reports, and RFP documentation
* Developing labor, equipment, and production rates
* Obtaining material pricing and subcontractor quotations
* Preparing bid proposals, schedules, and supporting documentation
* Assisting with bid strategy and project selection decisions
* Collaborating with operations teams to ensure accurate project planning and execution
Qualifications:
* 5+ years of construction estimating experience within utility sector
* Experience estimating projects valued at $10M+
* Strong understanding of excavation, grading, foundations, drilled piers, trenching, duct banks, paving, shoring, and related civil scopes
* Experience reviewing construction drawings and technical specifications
* Proficiency with HCSS HeavyBid, Bluebeam, B2W, Hard Dollar, or similar estimating software preferred
* Experience with California utility or infrastructure markets is highly desirable
