A well‑established MEP engineering firm is seeking an early‑career Electrical Engineer to join a collaborative, multidisciplinary team. This position is well suited for an Engineer‑in‑Training (EIT) with 2-4 years of experience in building systems design who is looking to expand technical depth, gain project exposure, and continue progressing toward licensure.

The Role

In this role, you will support the design and delivery of electrical systems for a variety of building projects across commercial, institutional, and specialty markets. You will work closely with senior engineers and project managers, contributing meaningfully to project execution while receiving ongoing mentorship and technical guidance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the design of electrical systems including power distribution, lighting, controls, fire alarm, and low‑voltage systems
  • Prepare construction documents using Revit and other industry‑standard tools
  • Perform electrical calculations, layouts, and equipment selections in compliance with applicable codes and standards
  • Coordinate designs with other internal disciplines and external consultants
  • Participate in project meetings and assist with construction‑phase support, including responding to RFIs
  • Incorporate feedback from senior staff and take on increasing technical responsibility over time

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
  • 2-4 years of professional experience in an MEP consulting or building‑focused engineering environment
  • Active Engineer‑in‑Training (EIT) certification
  • Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and relevant industry standards
  • Proficiency in Revit; familiarity with lighting calculation software is a plus
  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail
  • Demonstrated interest in professional growth and pursuing PE licensure
