Survey Office Technician / Licensed Land Surveyor
I'm partnered with a well-established multidisciplinary consulting firm with offices throughout New York and New Jersey that is looking to add an experienced Survey Office Technician or Licensed Land Surveyor to its growing survey team.
This is a great opportunity for an experienced survey professional who enjoys the technical and project side of surveying and wants exposure to a variety of projects while working alongside experienced field and office teams.
The Role
You'll support the preparation, processing, and delivery of survey projects from the office, with occasional field involvement when required.
Responsibilities will include:
- Processing, reviewing, and adjusting survey field data
- Applying survey methodology, calculations, and adjustment procedures
- Preparing terrain models using Bentley OpenRoads
- Reviewing and retracing property boundaries and right-of-way records
- Producing survey drawings including acquisition maps, topographic surveys, and other mapping deliverables
- Processing and registering terrestrial LiDAR data
- Extracting LiDAR information for use within CADD platforms
- Coordinating closely with field crews, project managers, and office staff
- Providing occasional field support as project needs require
What They're Looking For
- 6+ years of land surveying experience
- Strong experience with MicroStation
- Background in survey data processing, calculations, and drafting
- Strong understanding of boundary and right-of-way surveying
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate between field and office teams
Experience with any of the following would be beneficial:
- Bentley OpenRoads Designer
- NYSDOT survey standards and procedures
- Trimble robotic total stations and GNSS equipment
- Star*Net
- Trimble Business Center (TBC)
- Terrestrial LiDAR
- sUAS / drone surveying
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Land Surveying
