Mechanical Designer
An established design and consulting organization is seeking an entry-level to early-career Mechanical Design Professional to support the planning and development of building systems projects. This individual will work closely with experienced technical staff to assist with design production, project coordination, documentation, and engineering support activities across a range of facility types.

Responsibilities
- Assist in the development of building systems layouts and construction documentation for renovation and new construction projects.
- Support the preparation of technical drawings, design models, schedules, and project deliverables.
- Contribute to system design efforts involving air distribution, heating and cooling systems, plumbing-support infrastructure, and related building components.
- Participate in multidisciplinary coordination with project teams to ensure design integration and consistency.
- Help review design documents for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project objectives.
- Assist with technical calculations, equipment research, and product evaluations.
- Support field investigations, existing condition assessments, and project documentation updates.
- Participate in project meetings and communicate with internal team members, clients, contractors, and vendors as needed.
- Maintain organized project records and assist with meeting project deadlines and quality standards.
- Provide general project support throughout the design and construction process.
Qualifications
- 0-5 years of experience in engineering design, drafting, architecture, construction, or a related technical field.
- Experience using industry-standard design and drafting software.
- Fundamental understanding of building systems and construction documentation.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple assignments and priorities simultaneously.
Preferred Background
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering Technology, Design Technology, Building Systems, Construction, Architecture, or a related discipline.
- Exposure to 3D modeling, design coordination, or digital project delivery workflows.
- Familiarity with engineering calculations, code-based design requirements, or construction administration processes.
- Experience working on commercial, institutional, industrial, healthcare, educational, or mixed-use projects.
- Understanding of contemporary building design practices and construction methods.
