About the Role

We are seeking a Structural Project Engineer to join a growing engineering team. This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys both technical design and project leadership responsibilities. The successful candidate will support the delivery of building projects from concept through construction, working independently on smaller projects and as part of larger multidisciplinary teams on complex developments.

This position offers exposure to a diverse range of project types, direct client interaction, and opportunities to contribute to technical innovation and professional growth initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering design efforts on small to medium-sized building projects from concept through construction administration.
• Support senior engineers on large, complex projects by managing specific scopes of work and coordinating design activities.
• Develop engineering solutions that balance performance, constructability, sustainability, and client objectives.
• Collaborate closely with architects, consultants, contractors, and project stakeholders.
• Participate in project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and coordination efforts.
• Conduct design reviews and provide technical input to project teams.
• Perform site investigations, existing conditions assessments, and field observations during construction.
• Review project progress and ensure designs meet applicable codes, standards, and quality requirements.
• Prepare engineering calculations, technical documents, specifications, and construction drawings.
• Support the development of engineering standards, design tools, and best practices.
• Stay current with emerging technologies, industry trends, and engineering methodologies.
• Participate in client meetings and maintain strong professional relationships.
• Contribute to business development activities, proposals, presentations, and project pursuits when needed.
• Mentor junior engineers and collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited institution.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required or actively pursuing licensure; Structural Engineer (SE) license preferred for structural disciplines.
• Approximately 5+ years of engineering experience in building design and project delivery.
• Experience supporting projects from design development through construction completion.
• Experience working on multidisciplinary project teams.
• Strong understanding of engineering principles, building systems, and construction practices.
• Proficiency with industry-standard design software, including Revit and AutoCAD.
• Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting project schedules and quality standards.
• Experience with sustainable design initiatives and high-performance buildings is a plus.
• Experience working on commercial, institutional, healthcare, aviation, civic, or other complex building projects is preferred.
