Position Overview

The Superintendent will serve as the primary field leader responsible for overseeing all day-to-day construction activities from project startup through completion. This individual will ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards while maintaining strong relationships with subcontractors, project teams, and ownership groups. The role requires a hands-on leader who is passionate about building, mentoring field personnel, and driving project success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all on-site construction operations and field activities.
  • Maintain and update project schedules throughout construction and coordinate schedule updates with Project Managers.
  • Identify potential schedule risks and implement proactive mitigation strategies.
  • Coordinate procurement and delivery of materials, equipment, and tools to support project milestones.
  • Oversee subcontractor performance and ensure work progresses according to project schedule and quality expectations.
  • Interpret plans, specifications, and contract documents to ensure full compliance throughout construction.
  • Conduct daily site supervision, field coordination, and project planning activities.
  • Manage quality control and quality assurance processes for all work installed on the project.
  • Monitor project costs, productivity, and self-performed work activities.
  • Lead safety initiatives, conduct regular safety meetings and inspections, and enforce all company and OSHA requirements.
  • Investigate and document jobsite incidents and ensure corrective actions are implemented when necessary.
  • Facilitate subcontractor meetings, owner meetings, and daily planning discussions.
  • Coordinate site logistics, workforce planning, and construction sequencing activities.
  • Maintain project documentation, daily reports, and field records utilizing construction management software.
  • Support successful project turnover, commissioning activities, punch list completion, and closeout.

Desired Qualifications

  • 7-10 years of commercial construction experience with a general contractor.
  • Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience leading commercial construction projects from groundbreaking through completion.
  • Strong background in scheduling, field management, quality control, and safety leadership.
  • Experience with Procore, Revit, Navisworks, and Bluebeam.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and coordinate construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
  • Understanding of construction means and methods across a variety of project types.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to effectively manage subcontractors, schedules, and project stakeholders.
  • Willingness to travel regionally as project needs require.
  • OSHA certification preferred.
