Job Description
Key Responsibilities
- Leadership and Supervision: Provide guidance, mentorship, and direct supervision to site staff, including assistant superintendents, laborers, and other construction-related personnel.
- Schedule Management: Prepare and manage weekly schedules, including a 2-week look ahead.
- Subcontractor Coordination: Proactively schedule and coordinate all subcontractors to ensure project completion according to the schedule and budget.
- Material Coordination: Coordinate and schedule asphalt material from the plant, ensuring proper mix designs are used and quantities are tracked and released as necessary.
- Project Strategy: Develop a comprehensive understanding of project strategy and commitments, including financial goals, scheduling, logistics, phasing, milestones, and inspections.
- Labor Force Management: Manage union labor force and usage effectively.
- Equipment Coordination: Coordinate equipment needs and usage.
- Compliance and Quality Assurance: Ensure jobsite operations comply with design/specifications, are completed on schedule, within budget, and meet quality standards.
- Communication: Maintain effective and open dialogue with the project team regarding changes in work, job conditions, subcontractor relations, and any deviations in project direction.
- Project Schedule Maintenance: Work in partnership with project management to maintain an updated and accurate project schedule that reflects changes in project status and meets cost and time requirements.
- Meeting Management: Run weekly meetings, including project and subcontractor meetings.
- RFI Process: Initiate the Request for Information (RFI) process, including creating and suggesting solutions to site issues.
- Client Relations: Exceed client expectations by understanding their needs, wants, preferences, and culture.
- Subcontractor Relations: Promote positive subcontractor relations by dealing professionally and fairly with all subcontractors and vendors, instilling this philosophy in the project team.
- Punch List Management: Maintain and review the punch list process to ensure all items are addressed and executed in a timely manner.
- Closeout Process: Manage the closeout process and warranty responses with the project manager.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience: 5-10 years of relevant experience.
- Education: BS/BA in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or equivalent experience preferred.
- Communication Skills: Excellent abilities in writing, speaking, and active listening.
- Budgeting Knowledge: Knowledge of construction budgeting best practices.
- Leadership Skills: Effective leadership abilities, including motivation, goal-setting, and conflict management.
- Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills, including time management, delegation, prioritization, and multitasking.

Compensation and Benefits
- Salary Range: $105,000 - $195,000
