Survey CAD Technician | BOCA RATON
Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Survey CAD Technician to join our growing surveying team in Boca Raton. This individual will play a critical role in supporting a variety of land surveying projects throughout South Florida by preparing accurate survey deliverables, processing field data, and assisting survey crews and project managers with drafting and mapping needs.
The ideal candidate will have experience producing survey drawings for boundary, topographic, ALTA/NSPS, route, right-of-way, construction, and utility surveys using AutoCAD Civil 3D and related software. This position offers exposure to high-profile transportation, municipal, utility, land development, and infrastructure projects across the region.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare survey plats, maps, exhibits, and technical drawings using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Process and draft field-collected survey data from GPS, total stations, scanners, and drone surveys.
- Produce boundary, topographic, ALTA/NSPS, right-of-way, route, utility, easement, and as-built survey drawings.
- Develop legal descriptions, sketch-and-description packages, and easement exhibits.
- Assist with FDOT, municipal, county, and private development surveying projects.
- Perform deed research and support boundary analysis efforts.
- Maintain drafting standards, quality control procedures, and project documentation.
- Coordinate with Professional Surveyors & Mappers (PSMs), survey crews, engineers, and project managers to ensure accuracy and timely project completion.
- Incorporate revisions and redlines into project deliverables.
- Organize project files, CAD standards, and survey databases.
- Support the preparation of permit exhibits, construction staking plans, and utility mapping deliverables.
Qualifications
Required
- 2+ years of Survey CAD drafting experience.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Experience preparing land surveying deliverables and exhibits.
- Strong understanding of surveying principles, geometry, and mapping standards.
- Ability to interpret field notes, sketches, deeds, plats, and legal descriptions.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
Preferred
- Knowledge of ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys.
- Experience with right-of-way mapping and route surveys.
- Familiarity with Trimble Business Center, Carlson Survey, MicroStation, or GIS software.
- Understanding of Florida surveying standards and regulations.
- Associate's degree or technical certification in Surveying, Engineering Technology, Drafting, or a related field.
