Traffic Engineer
Our client, a regional consulting firm with a strong focus on traffic engineering, is seeking a Traffic Engineer to join their Spokane office. This role is ideal for a technically skilled engineer with experience in traffic operations, signal design, and transportation planning. Key Responsibilities
- Design and review traffic control devices, signal systems, and geometric layouts.
- Conduct traffic studies, capacity analyses, and safety evaluations.
- Prepare and seal traffic engineering plans, specifications, and estimates.
- Collaborate with municipalities, DOTs, and private developers.
- Review development plans for traffic impacts and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Support access management planning and traffic impact analysis.
- Troubleshoot signal operations and coordinate with field crews.
- Prepare funding applications and cost estimates for traffic projects.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Transportation Engineering.
- PE license in Washington preferred (or ability to obtain within 6 months).
- 4+ years of professional experience in traffic engineering.
- Proficiency in traffic modeling and design software (e.g., Synchro, AutoCAD, Civil 3D).
- Strong understanding of MUTCD, AASHTO, and WSDOT standards.
- Excellent communication and project coordination skills.
