A regional, employee-owned engineering firm is seeking a Transportation Engineer to join its growing team in Grand Junction. Responsibilities
- Design roadway, highway, intersection, and multimodal transportation improvement projects
- Prepare PS&E packages, technical reports, and construction documents
- Develop roadway alignments, profiles, grading plans, and corridor models
- Assist with drainage design, quantity calculations, and cost estimates
- Coordinate with project managers, clients, and multidisciplinary design teams
- Support project delivery from planning and preliminary engineering through final design
- Perform engineering analysis and quality control reviews
- Participate in client meetings and project coordination efforts
- Mentor junior staff and support project pursuits as experience allows
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
- PE license preferred, but EITs with roadway design experience are strongly encouraged to apply
- 3+ years of transportation engineering experience
- Strong roadway design experience is required
- Experience preparing construction plans and engineering documents
- Familiarity with Colorado transportation projects and standards is a plus
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
Technical Skills
Experience with one or more of the following:
- AutoCAD Civil 3D
- MicroStation
- OpenRoads Designer
- Roadway geometric design
- Corridor modeling
- Grading and drainage design
- Quantity calculations and cost estimating
