Water/Wastewater Project Engineer

Location: Denver, CO
Job Type: Full-Time

Overview

We are seeking a Water/Wastewater Project Engineer to join a growing team supporting municipal infrastructure projects throughout Colorado. This role will involve planning, design, and delivery of water, wastewater, and recycled water projects for public sector clients. The ideal candidate has experience managing technical tasks, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, and working directly with municipal clients.

Responsibilities

  • Support the planning, design, and construction of water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
  • Prepare and review engineering reports, technical memorandums, plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
  • Perform hydraulic calculations, system evaluations, and engineering analyses.
  • Coordinate with project managers, clients, regulatory agencies, and subconsultants.
  • Assist with project scheduling, budgeting, and resource management.
  • Support permitting and regulatory compliance efforts.
  • Participate in client meetings and presentations.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior staff.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, or related Engineering field.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required or ability to obtain within a reasonable timeframe.
  • 5+ years of experience in water, wastewater, or municipal infrastructure consulting.
  • Experience with pipeline, pump station, treatment facility, storage, or conveyance projects.
  • Strong technical writing and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with hydraulic modeling software and engineering design tools.
  • Experience working with municipal clients preferred.

Preferred Experience

  • Water treatment, wastewater treatment, or conveyance system design.
  • Construction support and engineering services during construction.
  • Master planning, capital improvement planning, or asset management projects.
  • Experience managing project tasks and coordinating multidisciplinary teams.

Expected Salary Range: $120,000 - $140,000 annually, depending on experience, licensure, and qualifications.
