My client-a small, employee-focused civil engineering firm based in St. Louis, Missouri-is hiring a Senior Project Manager to lead water resources and civil infrastructure projects. This is a full-time role with flexible hybrid options, ideal for someone with 8+ years of experience who's ready to take ownership of meaningful work and mentor the next generation of engineers.
You'll be managing projects that directly impact how communities handle rainwater, prevent flooding, and protect natural waterways. From designing detention basins that temporarily store stormwater, to stabilizing creek banks and sizing bridges over rivers-this role blends technical leadership with environmental stewardship.
Project Types You'll Lead:
- Stormwater management: pipe conveyance, detention basins, BMPs
- Flood mitigation: modeling river depths, designing levees, dams, and dikes
- Erosion control: stabilizing creek and river banks to prevent infrastructure damage
- Green infrastructure: parks, trails, and greenways
- Bridge and culvert design: ensuring safe crossings during high water events
- Permitting and coordination with federal, state, and local agencies
Your Responsibilities:
- Lead planning, design, permitting, and construction administration
- Develop scopes, budgets, and schedules for multi-disciplinary projects
- Mentor junior engineers and scientists
- Engage with clients and stakeholders to ensure project success
- Maintain strong relationships across agencies and partners
What You'll Bring:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field
- PE license (or ability to obtain in Missouri)
- Strong technical skills in AutoCAD Civil 3D, GIS, and hydrologic/hydraulic modeling
- Experience with floodplain analysis, site surveys, and reviewing shop drawings
- Proven leadership and communication skills
