BAS Program Manager

The Controls Program Manager (CPM) is responsible for driving operational excellence across the Smart Building Controls (SBC) business unit to ensure the successful delivery of multi‑year, multi‑site Building Management System (BMS) programs. This role oversees the full operational workflow for SBC initiatives, ensuring that resources, schedules, and deliverables are properly aligned to support efficient project execution.

The CPM serves as the primary operational partner for enterprise‑level customer stakeholders and leads internal coordination, reporting, and process management efforts. Their focus is to enable project managers, engineers, buyers, and commissioning staff to execute their responsibilities effectively and on time.


Essential Job Functions

  • Oversee the end‑to‑end operational process for SBC programs within enterprise platforms such as Salesforce, Oracle, or similar systems
  • Act as the main point of accountability for both internal teams and customer stakeholders across large‑scale capital programs
  • Develop, maintain, and distribute operational reports related to program status, resource utilization, timelines, and milestone completion
  • Ensure timely completion of project‑level tasks across all SBC departments
  • Identify opportunities to align installation schedules with available resources and organizational priorities
  • Partner with project managers to resolve escalations and ensure internal issues are addressed promptly
  • Forecast workload and capacity needs for prioritization, planning, and pipeline management
  • Monitor and track program and project milestones to ensure they are scheduled, updated, and executed appropriately
  • Define, implement, and measure KPIs related to planning, budgeting, execution, and overall operational efficiency
  • Trackdeliverables across functional groups, including:
    • Commissioning reports
    • Engineering design documents
    • Shipping and fulfillment progress
  • Coordinate with service and operations teams regarding escalations and scheduling needs
  • Support project managers with billing‑related milestones to ensure accurate reporting to finance
  • Promote consistency and accountability by standardizing processes, workflows, and reporting across teams

Skills and Abilities

  • Strong internal operations and workflow management skills
  • Expertise in resource and capacity planning
  • Ability to develop, analyze, and use reports and KPIs for operational decision‑making
  • Skilled in cross‑functional coordination and communication
  • Ability to manage escalations and drive timely resolution
  • Comfortable leading process improvements across multiple teams

Experience / Qualifications

  • Proficiency with operational project platforms such as Salesforce, Oracle, or comparable enterprise systems
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and reporting skills
  • Experience developing KPI‑based reporting for operational decision‑making
  • Excellent communication skills for collaborating across departments
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and ensure accountability within cross‑functional teams

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions

  • Role is primarily office‑based; may occasionally require lifting up to 50 pounds
  • May require climbing stairs or ladders
  • Must be comfortable working in both office environments and customer sites
  • Travel up to 10% as needed
