A leading multidisciplinary engineering and design firm is seeking an experienced Department Director to oversee its Civil/Site team in Boston. This role combines technical expertise with strategic leadership, focusing on operational excellence, client satisfaction, and business growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and direction to achieve financial and growth objectives for the Civil/Site discipline.
- Drive productivity, profitability, and quality across projects.
- Develop and execute marketing and business development strategies in collaboration with corporate teams.
- Oversee proposal development, contract execution, billing, and collections to ensure compliance and meet financial goals.
- Monitor resource allocation, staff utilization, and backlog to optimize efficiency.
- Foster professional development, succession planning, and effective employee relations within the team.
- Promote compliance with health and safety programs and company policies.
- Engage in business development and cross-selling of services.
- Travel as needed to support regional offices and projects.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related field.
- 15+ years of progressive leadership experience in civil/site engineering.
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) license required.
- Proven ability to lead large teams and deliver strategic results.
- Strong communication, delegation, and collaboration skills.
Compensation
Competitive salary range: $180,000 - $215,000, based on experience + bonus
