Lead Bridge & Tunnel Inspector

A growing engineering consulting firm is seeking a Lead Bridge & Tunnel Inspector (PE) to help establish and expand its bridge inspection practice in Massachusetts. The firm recently secured a major project scheduled to begin within the next 45 days and is looking to bring on a key leader who can make an immediate impact.
This is a unique opportunity to join a small, highly flexible organization and play a leading role in building a new service line from the ground up.
What You'll Do
- Lead bridge and tunnel inspection efforts on transportation infrastructure projects
- Perform and oversee field inspections, including some night inspections as required by client schedules
- Work closely with public-sector clients, including transit agencies such as the MBTA
- Prepare inspection reports, documentation, and recommendations
- Coordinate with engineers, project teams, and clients throughout project delivery
- Help shape and grow the firm's bridge inspection capabilities
- Support business development and client relationship efforts as the practice expands
- Provide leadership and mentorship as the team continues to grow
What They're Looking For
- PE license required
- Bridge and tunnel inspection experience with the ability to serve as a lead inspector
- Approximately 5-6+ years of experience preferred, though the firm is flexible for the right candidate
- Strong technical background combined with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Interest in helping grow a practice and take on leadership responsibilities
- Comfortable using technology and open to modern approaches to inspection and data collection
- Business development experience is a plus
