Senior Site/Civil Practice Leader

Location: San Francisco or San Jose, CA

A well-established engineering and consulting firm is seeking a Senior Site/Civil Practice Leader to lead land development projects and drive strategic growth in Northern California. This position offers the opportunity to work on diverse, high-profile projects while shaping the future of the practice.

About the Role

The Senior Site/Civil Practice Leader will oversee design and permitting for complex developments, mentor technical staff, and contribute to business development initiatives. The role involves collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and leadership to deliver innovative solutions for public and private clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage site/civil engineering design and permitting for residential, commercial, institutional, and mixed-use projects.
  • Partner with regional leadership to develop growth strategies and optimize team performance.
  • Lead client development efforts and maintain strong relationships with existing partners.
  • Provide technical oversight in storm-water management, hydrologic/hydraulic analysis, and regulatory compliance.
  • Coordinate with geotechnical and environmental teams to ensure integrated project delivery.
  • Support proposal development and technical documentation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in California.
  • 16+ years of relevant experience in site/civil engineering and land development.
  • Proven success in client development and project leadership.
  • Strong communication, analytical, and mentoring skills.
