We are seeking an experienced Civil Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of complex civil engineering projects from initial planning and design through construction and completion. This is a key leadership position responsible for driving technical excellence, managing project performance, fostering client relationships, and mentoring engineering teams.

The ideal candidate will combine strong technical expertise with proven project management skills, taking ownership of project outcomes while supporting the growth and development of team members. You'll play a critical role in ensuring projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the engineer in responsible charge for the planning, design, and delivery of civil engineering projects.
  • Lead projects from inception through completion, ensuring technical quality, financial success, and client satisfaction.
  • Develop and manage project scopes, schedules, staffing plans, and budgets to achieve project goals.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to multidisciplinary engineering teams, fostering collaboration and professional growth.
  • Oversee design development and project execution while maintaining compliance with company standards, industry regulations, and applicable codes.
  • Direct project-level QA/QC efforts and promote a culture of quality throughout the project team.
  • Make informed engineering decisions and provide technical guidance, accepting responsibility for project outcomes and design solutions.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor and primary point of contact.
  • Lead contract negotiations, scope modifications, and project change management efforts.
  • Monitor project financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, profitability, and risk management.
  • Navigate complex technical, contractual, and scheduling challenges while balancing client and business objectives.
  • Coordinate communication between clients, stakeholders, regulatory agencies, and internal teams.
  • Support the development of junior engineers and project staff through ongoing coaching and mentorship.
  • Ensure all work is completed in alignment with company policies, safety standards, and professional engineering practices.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline from an ABET-accredited program.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
  • 10+ years of civil engineering and project management experience.
  • Proven experience leading projects as the engineer in responsible charge.
  • Strong understanding of project financial management, QA/QC procedures, and risk mitigation.
  • Demonstrated success managing complex civil engineering or multidisciplinary projects.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, organizational, and relationship-building skills.
  • Experience working directly with clients, public agencies, and other key stakeholders.
