Construction Supervisor, Transmission
In this role, you will lead construction crews delivering complex transmission line and substation infrastructure projects that are critical to grid reliability, resiliency, and the ongoing energy transition. You will oversee large-scale projects that support the safe and efficient delivery of power to customers while ensuring construction activities are completed safely, on schedule, and to the highest quality standards.
Candidates should have Transmission Line and/or Substation construction experience.
Essential Functions
- Supervise all aspects of construction field management activities for transmission line and substation projects utilizing contractor resources.
- Work closely with Project Management, Engineering, Scheduling, Contract Administration, Legal, Procurement, Operations, and field personnel to ensure safe and timely project execution.
- Manage all aspects of the construction phase, including cost control, productivity, scheduling, quality, and compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Ensure adherence to environmental programs, policies, regulations, and permitting requirements.
- Promote and maintain a strong safety culture and safe work practices throughout all project activities.
- Foster collaboration and teamwork among internal departments, contractors, and project stakeholders.
- Participate in an on-call rotation to support operational and emergency response needs.
Technical Knowledge & Skills
- Detailed knowledge of transmission line and substation construction practices.
- Thorough understanding of applicable safety requirements, work practices, and industry procedures.
- Strong knowledge of electric transmission system operations, maintenance, and construction.
- Effective leadership, workforce management, and business planning skills.
- Proficiency with standard business software and construction management systems.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Applied Science, Business, Finance, Construction Management, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
Experience
- Minimum of 5-10 years of construction, maintenance, utility, or related infrastructure experience.
- Experience supporting electric transmission, utility, or energy delivery projects preferred.
- Prior supervisory experience managing both union and non-union workforces is preferred.
Licenses & Certifications
- Valid driver's license required.
Working Conditions
- Must be available for emergency response assignments as required.
- Travel to project sites within the assigned service territory may be required.
