About the Opportunity

Our client is a rapidly growing energy infrastructure developer seeking a Director of Development to lead the advancement of large-scale projects from early-stage origination through construction readiness.

This individual will be responsible for managing all aspects of project development, including site control, permitting, interconnection, stakeholder engagement, regulatory approvals, and cross-functional coordination. The position offers the opportunity to play a key role in shaping a growing portfolio of energy and infrastructure assets supporting increasing power demand across the U.S.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead development activities across a portfolio of utility-scale energy and infrastructure projects.
  • Manage projects from site identification through permitting, entitlement, and pre-construction phases.
  • Coordinate with landowners, consultants, utilities, regulatory agencies, and local stakeholders.
  • Oversee site control negotiations, easements, land agreements, and other real estate matters.
  • Advance interconnection activities and work closely with transmission providers and utilities.
  • Manage environmental, permitting, and regulatory workstreams.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, milestones, and risk assessments.
  • Collaborate with engineering, commercial, finance, legal, and executive teams to support project advancement.
  • Support strategic planning and market evaluation efforts for future development opportunities.
  • Present project updates and recommendations to senior leadership.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred.
  • 7+ years of experience developing large-scale infrastructure, power generation, renewable energy, transmission, energy storage, industrial, or related projects.
  • Demonstrated success advancing projects through siting, permitting, interconnection, and stakeholder engagement processes.
  • Strong understanding of project development lifecycles and regulatory frameworks.
  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously across various development stages.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship management skills.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to operate in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.

Compensation
