Role Summary:
This role is a key contributor to the successful execution of engineering projects from concept through completion. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, project leadership, and client engagement. The engineer will ensure that project goals are met by clearly communicating expectations and maintaining strong relationships with both internal teams and external clients.
This position thrives in a collaborative environment and supports business development efforts through proposal writing and client meetings. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, pragmatic, and creative in addressing client needs and delivering tailored solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with senior engineers to enhance design capabilities.
- Design medium voltage and 480V power systems, including generation and distribution.
- Develop detailed engineering documents and specifications for systems such as ground fault protection, lightning protection, generators, UPS, DC systems, motor control centers, and power factor correction.
- Produce standard deliverables including single-line diagrams, schematics, plans, and equipment schedules.
- Prepare three-line and schematic drawings.
- Build familiarity with relevant codes and standards (e.g., NEC, NFPA, IBC, Life Safety Code).
- Perform voltage drop, short-circuit, and arc fault analyses.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and contractors to ensure project alignment.
- Review contractor submittals, conduct site visits, and support system commissioning.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without current or future sponsorship.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or intent to pursue licensure.
- Minimum of 7 years of post-graduate experience in electrical engineering.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit.
- Experience in electrical design for building systems across various industries.
- Strong understanding of construction practices across engineering disciplines.
- In-depth knowledge of industry codes and standards (NEC, NFPA, NESC, ANSI/IEEE).
