Salary: $75,000 - $95,000 + Bonus + Benefits
A growing forensic engineering and consulting firm is seeking a Junior Mechanical Forensic Engineer (EIT) to join its Miami office. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career engineer looking to gain hands-on experience investigating mechanical failures, property damage claims, construction defects, and building system performance issues.
Working alongside experienced forensic engineers, you will assist with inspections, failure analyses, technical evaluations, and engineering reports across commercial, residential, hospitality, and industrial projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with forensic investigations involving mechanical system failures and property damage claims.
- Perform site inspections of HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and other building systems.
- Gather field data, document observations, and photograph site conditions.
- Review construction documents, maintenance records, drawings, and specifications.
- Support root-cause and failure-analysis investigations.
- Prepare detailed technical reports outlining findings and recommendations.
- Collaborate with senior engineers on litigation support and insurance-related assignments.
- Communicate with clients, contractors, attorneys, insurance representatives, and property owners.
- Travel throughout South Florida for site visits and investigations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- EIT certification or actively pursuing PE licensure.
- 1-2 years of engineering experience.
- Experience with HVAC, plumbing, MEP systems, construction, or building services engineering preferred.
- Strong technical writing and analytical skills.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and standard engineering software.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel locally.
