The Role
Responsibilities
- Lead the delivery of structural engineering projects from concept through construction support.
- Prepare and review engineering designs, calculations, and technical documentation.
- Manage the production of construction drawings, specifications, estimates, and related documentation.
- Oversee project teams to ensure quality, productivity, and timely delivery.
- Conduct structural inspections and prepare technical reports and recommendations.
- Develop project work plans, resource allocations, and man-hour budgets.
- Monitor project schedules, costs, and overall performance against objectives.
- Support proposal preparation, client engagement, and business development initiatives.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver successful project outcomes.
- Ensure projects meet profitability, quality, and delivery targets.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in structural engineering.
- Engineer in Training (EIT) certification required.
- Professional Engineer (PE) licence preferred.
- Strong knowledge of steel, concrete, and timber design principles.
- Familiarity with relevant design codes including IBC, ASCE 7, ACI, and AISC.
- Competent user of AutoCAD.
- Experience with structural analysis and design software such as STAAD and Enercalc.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong project coordination and stakeholder management abilities.
- Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary engineering teams.
