Senior Bridge Engineer
Location: Georgia
Compensation: $150,000 - $180,000 Base Salary
About the Opportunity
A growing and well-established engineering consulting organization is seeking a Senior Bridge Engineer to support and lead transportation infrastructure projects throughout Georgia. This position offers the opportunity to work on complex bridge design, rehabilitation, and replacement projects while serving as a technical leader for project teams and clients.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience delivering bridge projects within a DOT consulting environment and will be comfortable managing both technical execution and project delivery responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead bridge engineering projects from planning and preliminary design through final design and construction support.
- Perform and oversee structural analysis and bridge design for transportation infrastructure projects.
- Develop design calculations, plans, specifications, and technical reports.
- Ensure compliance with AASHTO, state DOT, and client design standards.
- Manage project schedules, budgets, staffing, and deliverables.
- Conduct QA/QC reviews and maintain high standards of technical excellence.
- Coordinate with roadway, drainage, traffic, geotechnical, and environmental project teams.
- Serve as a client-facing technical resource and participate in project meetings and presentations.
- Mentor and develop junior engineers and technical staff.
- Support business development efforts, proposal preparation, and client relationship management.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
- 10+ years of progressive bridge design and structural engineering experience.
- Experience leading transportation infrastructure and bridge projects.
- Strong knowledge of AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications.
- Experience managing project budgets, schedules, and technical teams.
- Excellent communication and technical writing skills.
- Ability to travel as needed throughout the region.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Civil Engineering.
- Georgia PE or ability to obtain reciprocity.
- Structural Engineer (SE) license (Plus but not required)
- Experience working on GDOT transportation projects.
- Active involvement in professional engineering organizations.
