Senior Electrical Engineer
Responsibilities
- Lead electrical engineering and design efforts for utility, substation, and data center projects.
- Perform power system studies including:
- Short circuit analysis
- Protective device coordination
- Arc flash analysis
- Load flow studies
- Equipment evaluations
- Develop and review single-line diagrams, electrical calculations, and technical specifications.
- Design and analyze medium-voltage and low-voltage power distribution systems.
- Support utility, transmission & distribution, and substation projects.
- Prepare engineering reports and study documentation for clients.
- Collaborate with clients, project managers, and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
- Participate in design reviews, troubleshooting efforts, and project execution activities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Active Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- 5+ years of electrical engineering experience in power systems, utilities, substations, or data centers.
- Advanced proficiency with SKM PowerTools and/or ETAP.
- Experience conducting:
- Arc Flash Studies
- Short Circuit Studies
- Protective Device Coordination Studies
- Load Flow Analysis
- Strong understanding of electrical power distribution systems.
- Familiarity with NEC, NESC, IEEE, and utility design standards.
- Strong communication and client-facing skills.
- Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Utility transmission and distribution experience.
- Substation design experience.
- Data center electrical infrastructure experience.
- Consulting engineering background.
- Experience serving as Engineer of Record.
- NETA, IEEE, or related industry involvement.
