The Role
Responsibilities
- Lead the structural engineering design and delivery of medium to large-scale projects.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance on complex engineering challenges.
- Manage project budgets, schedules, quality assurance, and multidisciplinary coordination.
- Act as a key client contact, leading meetings and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships.
- Review and approve structural designs, materials, equipment selections, and construction deliverables.
- Coordinate and supervise teams of engineers and designers throughout project lifecycles.
- Define project scope, organise deliverables, and identify potential scope changes.
- Mentor junior engineers and technical staff, supporting professional development.
- Drive continuous improvement through innovative engineering solutions and best practices.
- Support business development initiatives and contribute to client growth strategies.
- Assess and mitigate structural risks related to seismic performance, load paths, and material durability.
- Ensure compliance with relevant building codes, industry standards, and project requirements.
- Participate in site visits and travel as required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering.
- Professional Engineer (PE) licence required; SE licence advantageous.
- Minimum of eight years' relevant structural engineering experience.
- Strong experience delivering industrial and manufacturing facility projects.
- Working knowledge of BIM collaboration platforms including ACC/BIM360, Bluebeam, and Navisworks.
- Thorough understanding of US structural and seismic design codes including ASCE, ACI, AISC 341, and IBC.
- Experience designing concrete, steel, and foundation systems in high seismic regions is desirable.
- Proven ability to manage multidisciplinary project teams and technical reviews.
- Strong client-facing communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience with data centre and/or pharmaceutical projects would be advantageous.
- Ability to mentor engineering teams and provide technical leadership.
- Valid driving licence required where applicable.
