The Role

This is an excellent opportunity for a Senior Structural Engineer to take ownership of complex engineering projects while providing technical leadership across multidisciplinary teams. You will lead the structural design and delivery of industrial and manufacturing facilities, coordinating with architects, contractors, clients, and engineering disciplines to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget. The role combines technical excellence, client engagement, project leadership, mentoring responsibilities, and business development activities, offering a clear pathway for further professional and leadership growth.

Responsibilities

Lead the structural engineering design and delivery of medium to large-scale projects.
Provide technical leadership and guidance on complex engineering challenges.
Manage project budgets, schedules, quality assurance, and multidisciplinary coordination.
Act as a key client contact, leading meetings and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships.
Review and approve structural designs, materials, equipment selections, and construction deliverables.
Coordinate and supervise teams of engineers and designers throughout project lifecycles.
Define project scope, organise deliverables, and identify potential scope changes.
Mentor junior engineers and technical staff, supporting professional development.
Drive continuous improvement through innovative engineering solutions and best practices.
Support business development initiatives and contribute to client growth strategies.
Assess and mitigate structural risks related to seismic performance, load paths, and material durability.
Ensure compliance with relevant building codes, industry standards, and project requirements.
Participate in site visits and travel as required.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering.
Professional Engineer (PE) licence required; SE licence advantageous.
Minimum of eight years' relevant structural engineering experience.
Strong experience delivering industrial and manufacturing facility projects.
Working knowledge of BIM collaboration platforms including ACC/BIM360, Bluebeam, and Navisworks.
Thorough understanding of US structural and seismic design codes including ASCE, ACI, AISC 341, and IBC.
Experience designing concrete, steel, and foundation systems in high seismic regions is desirable.
Proven ability to manage multidisciplinary project teams and technical reviews.
Strong client-facing communication and stakeholder management skills.
Experience with data centre and/or pharmaceutical projects would be advantageous.
Ability to mentor engineering teams and provide technical leadership.
Valid driving licence required where applicable.
