Senior Structural Engineer | Project Lead (Hybrid)
Overview
An established multidisciplinary engineering consultancy is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to take a leading role in the delivery of complex building projects across a diverse portfolio of sectors. This position offers the opportunity to oversee projects from initial planning through construction, collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders, and contribute to the growth of both clients and junior team members.

Salary: $120,000 - $145,000 DOE + performance bonus
Working Arrangement: Hybrid
Key Responsibilities
- Lead structural design and engineering delivery for a variety of new-build, renovation, and expansion projects.
- Act as the primary technical contact for clients, architects, contractors, and project consultants.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines, budgets, and quality standards are achieved.
- Develop structural calculations, reports, specifications, drawings, and construction documentation.
- Perform structural analysis in accordance with applicable industry codes and design standards.
- Carry out site visits and structural assessments of existing and active construction projects.
- Review submittals, shop drawings, and contractor requests during the construction phase.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to less experienced engineers and designers.
- Monitor project performance, resource allocation, and financial targets.
- Support client engagement activities and contribute to the development of long-term business relationships.
- Travel periodically for project meetings, inspections, and client engagements.
Skills & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Professional Engineer (PE) licence required; additional structural certifications are advantageous.
- Approximately 10+ years of experience delivering building structures projects from concept design through construction.
- Strong understanding of structural systems across steel, reinforced concrete, masonry, precast, timber, and cold-formed framing.
- Proven experience leading multidisciplinary project teams and managing client relationships.
- Demonstrated success delivering renovations, adaptive reuse projects, building additions, and new construction developments.
- Working knowledge of current building codes and industry design standards.
- Proficiency with structural design and drafting software, including Revit, RAM, Bluebeam, and related engineering tools.
- Excellent communication, leadership, problem-solving, and organisational skills.
