Our client is a global infrastructure developer and investment platform focused on digital infrastructure, power, and energy projects. The business develops and invests in large-scale data center, power generation, and grid infrastructure projects across Asia, Latin America, and other high-growth markets.

Role Summary

The Technical / EPC Director will lead the technical development, construction strategy, and delivery of hyperscale data center and energy infrastructure projects. Acting as the owner's representative, this individual will oversee engineering, EPC management, project execution, commissioning, and stakeholder coordination to ensure successful project delivery from development through handover.

Key Responsibilities

Project Development & Delivery

  • Lead the technical delivery of large-scale data center and energy infrastructure projects.
  • Provide oversight across site selection, engineering, permitting, construction, commissioning, and operational readiness.
  • Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to quality standards.
  • Coordinate design, procurement, construction, and operational stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.

EPC & Contractor Management

  • Manage and oversee EPC contractors, consultants, and owner's engineering teams.
  • Review technical deliverables, project schedules, quality plans, risk registers, and construction methodologies.
  • Drive resolution of technical, contractual, and project execution issues.
  • Monitor project progress, cost performance, and key project milestones.

Power & Infrastructure Strategy

  • Support power infrastructure planning, grid connectivity, and energy strategy for data center developments.
  • Coordinate with utilities, transmission providers, regulators, and key external stakeholders.
  • Provide technical input on power generation, grid capacity, and infrastructure requirements.

Risk & Stakeholder Management

  • Identify and mitigate technical, commercial, regulatory, and construction risks.
  • Build strong relationships with government authorities, utilities, consultants, lenders, and project partners.
  • Ensure compliance with local regulations and international project delivery standards.

Requirements

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Power Systems, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
  • Proven experience delivering large-scale data center, power, renewable energy, transmission, or mission-critical infrastructure projects.
  • Strong background in EPC delivery, contractor management, construction execution, and project controls.
  • Experience working on the owner, developer, EPC, PMC, or owner's engineer side.
  • Understanding of power infrastructure, grid development, and energy-related projects.
  • Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and commercial awareness.
  • Willingness to travel internationally as required.
