Technical Drinking Water Lead

We are seeking a highly experienced Technical Lead to drive the delivery of complex drinking water and wastewater infrastructure projects across planning, design, and construction phases. This is a strategic leadership role for a senior engineer with deep technical expertise, a proven track record of project delivery, and a passion for advancing public health and environmental resilience.

You will serve as the technical authority on multidisciplinary projects, guiding teams through treatment process design, hydraulic modelling, regulatory coordination, and stakeholder engagement. This role offers the opportunity to shape infrastructure systems that serve communities for decades, while mentoring the next generation of engineers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead technical design and delivery of water and wastewater treatment plants, pump stations, pipelines, and distribution/collection systems

  • Oversee process evaluations, modelling, permitting, and optimization studies

  • Ensure technical quality across all deliverables, including reports, plans, specifications, and cost estimates

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, regulatory agencies, and internal teams

  • Mentor junior and mid-level engineers, fostering technical growth and collaboration

  • Support strategic pursuits, proposal development, and client relationship management

  • Stay ahead of industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil, Environmental, or Chemical Engineering

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required

  • Minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in drinking water and wastewater infrastructure

  • Demonstrated leadership in large-scale municipal projects and multidisciplinary teams

  • Expertise in treatment process design, hydraulic modelling, and regulatory compliance

  • Proficiency in design and modelling tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D, WaterCAD, SewerCAD, BioWin)

  • Exceptional communication, leadership, and client engagement skills
