Wastewater Engineer
Position Overview
A leading engineering firm is seeking a civil/environmental engineer with experience in drinking water or wastewater design to join its team in San Francisco, California. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to a variety of water and wastewater infrastructure projects across the West Coast, working alongside experienced professionals in a collaborative and growth-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the design and development of water and wastewater treatment facilities, pipelines, pump stations, sewer systems, and related infrastructure.
- Ensure designs comply with federal, state, and local regulations, and adhere to internal quality standards.
- Conduct site assessments and update design specifications based on field conditions.
- Perform water quality analyses and modeling to inform design decisions.
- Contribute to technical knowledge sharing through documentation, white papers, and journal submissions.
- Assist in proposal development and client engagement, including responding to RFPs and attending industry events.
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior staff, and may oversee their work on project tasks.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, or Chemical Engineering (or a related field).
- Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience (additional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree).
- Willingness to travel domestically as needed (approximately 10%).
Skills and Competencies
- Proficiency in 3D/4D CAD software and engineering design principles.
- Strong command of Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, etc.).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- In-depth knowledge of applicable regulations at all levels of government.
