Project Manager - Water/Wastewater Engineering
Location: Phoenix, AZ
Compensation: $109,000 - $145,000 + bonus potential
Relocation Assistance: Available for qualified candidates
Schedule: Full-Time
A growing multidisciplinary consulting and engineering firm is seeking a Project Manager to lead the delivery of water and wastewater infrastructure projects throughout Arizona. This role is ideal for a technical professional who enjoys both project execution and client engagement, offering a mix of project management, engineering oversight, business development, and staff mentorship.
Responsibilities
- Manage and deliver water and wastewater infrastructure projects from planning through design.
- Lead preparation of improvement plans, master plans, technical reports, and engineering studies.
- Oversee the work of engineers, EITs, and CAD designers to ensure quality and constructability.
- Manage project scopes, schedules, budgets, and client expectations.
- Coordinate with clients, stakeholders, regulatory agencies, and subconsultants.
- Review project deliverables and provide technical guidance to project teams.
- Mentor and develop junior engineering staff.
- Support proposal development, client relationship management, and business development efforts.
- Represent the firm at industry events, professional organizations, and networking opportunities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in Arizona.
- 5+ years of water/wastewater engineering experience.
- 2+ years of project management experience.
- Strong understanding of municipal water and wastewater systems.
- Proven ability to manage project budgets, schedules, and client communications.
- Excellent leadership, mentoring, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with utility modeling or hydraulic modeling software.
- Proposal development and business development experience.
- Established relationships within the Arizona municipal market.
- Experience managing multidisciplinary project teams.
