Senior Electrical Engineer (Mission Critical Data Centers)
Location: Fully Remote (U.S.)
A leading multidisciplinary consulting engineering firm is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to support the design and delivery of large-scale mission-critical and hyperscale data center projects. This is an opportunity to join a growing team focused on complex, high-performance facilities while providing technical leadership, client engagement, and mentorship across major programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead electrical design for mission-critical and hyperscale data center projects from concept through construction.
- Develop power distribution systems including utility service, switchgear, UPS systems, generators, transfer schemes, and grounding systems.
- Perform technical oversight of short-circuit, coordination, and arc flash studies.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams, contractors, utilities, and commissioning providers.
- Conduct QA/QC reviews to ensure quality, constructability, and code compliance.
- Support client meetings, design reviews, construction administration, and technical problem-solving.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to design standards and best practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- 8+ years of electrical engineering experience within an MEP consulting environment.
- Strong experience designing mission-critical facilities, data centers, or other high-reliability infrastructure.
- Knowledge of medium- and low-voltage power distribution systems, backup power, and critical electrical infrastructure.
- Proficiency with Revit and/or AutoCAD.
- Experience with power system analysis tools such as SKM, ETAP, or EasyPower is preferred.
- PE license or ability to obtain preferred.
- Strong communication, leadership, and client-facing skills.
