HVAC Controls Service Specialist
An established controls contractor in the Greater Boston area is looking to appoint a Senior Service Specialist to lead and strengthen its service function. This is a hands-on role with clear progression into division leadership and the opportunity to help build a small projects capability over time.
This opportunity sits within a growing building automation and HVAC controls contractor focused on complex commercial environments across Greater Boston. The business delivers high-quality BMS solutions into sectors including life sciences, laboratories and large-scale commercial facilities, with a strong emphasis on long-term client relationships and technical excellence.
- Lead day-to-day service operations across a portfolio of BMS clients
- Diagnose and resolve complex HVAC controls and system issues
- Support and mentor junior service engineers and technicians
- Act as a senior point of contact for key customer accounts
- Carry out system optimisation, troubleshooting and performance improvements
- Manage service schedules, prioritisation and response times
- Contribute to the development of a structured service offering
- Support the creation and growth of a small projects and upgrades team
- Work closely with commissioning and project delivery teams on handovers and remediation
- Ensure high standards of documentation, reporting and client communication
- Minimum 5 years of experience in HVAC controls or building automation service roles
- Strong knowledge of BMS systems in commercial and mission-critical environments
- Proven experience troubleshooting and maintaining complex control systems
- Ability to lead, coach, and develop technical teams
- Strong client-facing skills and professionalism
- Experience working in sectors such as pharma, labs or large commercial buildings
- Experience helping to shape or lead a service department
- Exposure to small project delivery or retrofit work
- Interest in progressing into leadership or division management
- Tridium Niagara (preferred)
- Distech Controls (preferred)
- Johnson Controls Facility Explorer (preferred)
- General experience with BACnet-based systems and modern BMS architectures
- Greater Boston area with regional travel to client sites as required.
