A well-established and growing mechanical contractor in the greater Boston area is seeking a Service / Field Manager to lead and expand their HVAC service operations.
This is a key leadership role overseeing field technicians, driving service performance, and maintaining strong client relationships across commercial and institutional accounts.
The Opportunity
- Lead a team of service technicians across preventative maintenance, reactive service, and small projects
- Play a central role in scaling the service division and improving operational efficiency
- Join a stable, reputable contractor with a strong pipeline of service contracts and repeat clients
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and mentor field technicians (scheduling, performance, training, hiring)
- Oversee daily service operations, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients, maintaining strong relationships
- Coordinate service calls, preventative maintenance programmes, and emergency response
- Support quoting, small project estimating, and service contract renewals
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and company procedures
- Work closely with leadership to drive growth within the service division
What They're Looking For
- 5-10+ years' experience within HVAC/mechanical service
- Proven leadership experience (Service Manager, Supervisor, Lead Technician stepping up)
- Strong understanding of commercial HVAC systems and service operations
- Ability to manage technicians, clients, and service workflows simultaneously
- Experience with dispatching, scheduling, and service software is a plus
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
