My client is seeking an experienced Senior Energy Advisor to drive new business growth while serving as a trusted consultant to clients. This role combines business development, relationship management, and energy market expertise to help organizations optimize their energy procurement strategies. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing new client relationships, identifying business opportunities, guiding customers through energy purchasing decisions, and delivering consultative solutions that align with client goals.

This is a full-time opportunity with a preference for candidates located within commuting distance of the Greater Boston area.

The Senior Energy Advisor is responsible for ...

  • Develop and execute business development strategies to generate new revenue opportunities.
  • Identify prospective clients through networking, referrals, market research, and targeted outreach.
  • Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting and lead generation through contract negotiation and close.
  • Build and maintain long-term client relationships to drive retention and growth.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on electricity and natural gas markets.
  • Advise clients on energy procurement strategies, budgeting, risk management, and market conditions.
  • Support renewable energy and sustainability initiatives where applicable.
  • Analyze market trends, pricing data, and energy usage information to develop recommendations.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to deliver a high level of client service and project execution.

The Senior Energy Advisor must have the following ...

  • Minimum of 5 years of business development experience within the energy procurement, energy consulting, or retail energy sector.
  • Demonstrated history of consistently meeting or exceeding sales goals.
  • Strong presentation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Deep understanding of U.S. electricity markets.
  • Knowledge of U.S. natural gas markets.
  • Experience with renewable energy sourcing and sustainability programs is preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to interpret market data and translate findings into actionable client recommendations.
  • Self-motivated with an entrepreneurial mindset and a consultative sales approach.
