Senior Roadway Engineer
Our client, a well-established multidisciplinary engineering firm, is seeking a Senior Roadway Engineer to support transportation infrastructure projects across North Carolina and the surrounding region. This is a great opportunity for an experienced roadway engineer who enjoys leading design efforts, mentoring junior staff, and contributing to impactful public sector projects.

The Senior Roadway Engineer will be responsible for:
- Leading roadway design projects from concept through final plans
- Preparing plans, specifications, and cost estimates in accordance with NCDOT and AASHTO standards
- Overseeing geometric design, corridor modeling, and traffic control plans
- Coordinating with internal teams, subconsultants, and clients
- Mentoring junior engineers and supporting staff development
- Assisting with proposals, scope development, and client presentations
- Supporting project managers with technical execution and quality control
The ideal candidate will have:
- At least 8 years of experience in roadway engineering
- Strong knowledge of NCDOT standards and procedures
- Proficiency in design software such as MicroStation, OpenRoads, or similar
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (Master's preferred)
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in North Carolina or ability to obtain
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- A collaborative mindset and interest in continued professional growth
