Structural Engineer
We're hiring on behalf of a respected structural engineering firm based in Los Angeles. The team is looking for a mid-level engineer with 6-10 years of experience in building design and seismic analysis. This role offers the chance to work on a variety of commercial, residential, and institutional projects across Southern California.
About the Role:
You'll be responsible for structural design, analysis, and documentation from concept through construction. You'll collaborate closely with architects, contractors, and other consultants, and provide technical support during construction. The firm values engineers who are proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform structural analysis and design for buildings using tools like ETABS, SAP2000, and RISA
- Prepare drawings, specifications, and calculations for permit and construction
- Coordinate with internal teams and external partners
- Conduct site visits and respond to RFIs during construction
- Ensure compliance with California Building Code and other relevant standards
Qualifications:
- BS or MS in Civil or Structural Engineering
- 6-10 years of experience in structural design
- Strong understanding of seismic design principles
- Proficiency in structural analysis software
- PE license in California preferred (or ability to obtain)
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
