Superintendent
A well-established design-build construction firm is seeking an experienced Superintendent to lead commercial interior construction projects throughout New Jersey and New York City.
This is an opportunity to join a growing organisation with a strong pipeline of corporate interiors, tenant improvement, renovation and fit-out projects. You'll play a key role in delivering high-quality projects while working closely with clients, subcontractors and project management teams.
The Role
As Superintendent, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of site operations, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time and to the highest standards of quality.
You will oversee multiple trades, manage project schedules, coordinate subcontractors and serve as the primary field leader throughout the construction process.
Responsibilities
- Manage all on-site construction activities from mobilisation through project completion.
- Lead subcontractors and field teams to maintain safety, quality and productivity standards.
- Coordinate schedules, logistics and site sequencing to ensure projects remain on track.
- Conduct daily site inspections and proactively resolve field issues.
- Work closely with project managers, clients, architects and consultants.
- Maintain accurate project documentation, schedules and progress reports.
- Ensure compliance with all company, client and regulatory safety requirements.
- Successfully execute projects within active and occupied environments while minimising disruption to operations.
Requirements
- Must be local to New Jersey with the ability to work regularly throughout NJ and NYC.
- 10+ years of experience managing interior construction projects.
- Strong experience delivering:
- Commercial interiors
- Tenant improvements
- Corporate office fit-outs
- Renovation projects
- Deep understanding of interior build-out scope within both active and occupied environments.
- Proven ability to manage multiple subcontractors and coordinate complex construction activities.
- Strong organisational, scheduling and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
