CHICAGO | Senior Bridge Project Manager
My client is seeking a Senior Bridge Project Manager to join their transportation structures team in Chicago. This role is well suited for a structures-focused engineer looking to take the next step into a senior leadership and mentorship position while remaining technically engaged.
The successful candidate will lead the design and delivery of bridge, retaining wall, and transportation-related structural projects, serve as a deputy leader within the structures group, and support the growth and development of engineering staff. This position offers exposure to high-profile public-sector clients and opportunities to contribute to business development efforts.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Managing and delivering transportation structural projects from concept through construction
- Providing technical oversight and preparing engineering calculations, plans, specifications, and cost estimates
- Leading and mentoring engineers and coordinating project teams and subconsultants
- Ensuring compliance with applicable codes, standards, schedules, budgets, and quality objectives
- Supporting proposal development, SOIs, and client pursuits
- Participating in client coordination, contract discussions, and industry networking efforts
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a structural focus
- PE and SE license in Illinois (or ability to obtain SE within 6 months)
- 8+ years of progressive experience in transportation structural design and project management
- Experience working with IDOT, ISTHA, and/or CDOT
- Strong leadership, communication, and client-facing skills
- Proficiency with structural design and CADD software (MicroStation and/or AutoCAD)
