About the Opportunity

A well-established heavy civil construction contractor is seeking a Quality Control Manager to join its growing team in the Boise, Idaho market. This individual will play a key role in ensuring quality standards are maintained across large-scale infrastructure and civil construction projects including roadway, highway, bridge, utility, excavation, and site development work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and manage project-specific Quality Control (QC) plans.
  • Ensure all construction activities meet company, owner, contract, and regulatory quality standards.
  • Coordinate and oversee inspections, testing, and documentation efforts.
  • Review project specifications, plans, and contract requirements to ensure compliance.
  • Work closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, field staff, subcontractors, and owners' representatives.
  • Manage non-conformance reports and corrective action processes.
  • Track and maintain quality documentation, testing reports, and project records.
  • Participate in project meetings and provide quality-related updates and recommendations.
  • Assist in preparing for owner audits, agency inspections, and project closeout activities.
  • Promote a culture of quality, safety, and continuous improvement throughout the organization.

Experience Needed

  • 5+ years of quality control, quality assurance, or construction management experience within heavy civil construction.
  • Experience supporting projects such as highways, roads, bridges, utilities, earthwork, excavation, grading, or underground infrastructure.
  • Proven experience managing quality documentation, testing programs, and inspection processes.
  • Background working on public works, DOT, municipal, FAA, federal, or other government-funded projects preferred.
  • Experience coordinating with owners, engineers, inspectors, and regulatory agencies.
  • Strong understanding of construction materials testing and inspection procedures.
  • Ability to identify quality deficiencies and implement corrective action plans.

Qualifications Needed

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred.
  • Equivalent field experience will be considered in lieu of formal education.
  • Strong knowledge of heavy civil construction methods and industry best practices.
  • Understanding of project specifications, contract documents, submittals, and RFIs.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced construction environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and construction management software.
  • Current driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Relevant certifications such as ACI, CQM-C, NICET, OSHA, or other quality-related certifications are a plus.
