The Opportunity

We are seeking a Lead Mechanical Engineer to play a key role in the design and delivery of cutting-edge hyperscale data centers and mission-critical facilities across North America.

In this position, you will lead the mechanical design of complex infrastructure projects from concept through construction, collaborating with engineering, design, and project management teams to deliver highly reliable and energy-efficient solutions. You'll have the autonomy to drive technical decisions, mentor engineers, engage directly with clients, and influence the development of best practices across the organization.

What You'll Be Doing

Technical Leadership & Design

  • Lead mechanical engineering design efforts for hyperscale data centers and mission-critical facilities.
  • Design and analyze HVAC, chilled water, hydronic, and related mechanical systems.
  • Perform load calculations, energy analysis, and equipment sizing.
  • Develop and review mechanical specifications, construction documents, and technical reports.
  • Create and review designs using Revit and AutoCAD.
  • Develop HVAC controls sequences and coordinate with controls teams.
  • Provide technical mentorship and guidance to engineers and designers.
  • Support project pursuits through scope development, budgeting, and technical input.

Project & Client Leadership

  • Manage project teams, resources, schedules, and technical deliverables.
  • Identify project risks and develop strategies to maintain schedule and budget objectives.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor and technical resource for clients.
  • Collaborate closely with project managers and cross-functional teams to ensure successful project execution.

Construction & Delivery

  • Review submittals, shop drawings, and RFIs.
  • Support site observations, commissioning efforts, and construction administration activities.
  • Participate in project closeout and turnover processes.
  • Evaluate existing facility conditions and support renovation and expansion projects.

Innovation & Digital Transformation

  • Champion the use of technology, automation, and AI-enabled tools to improve engineering workflows.
  • Leverage advanced analytics, visualization platforms, and digital project delivery tools to enhance project outcomes.
  • Help drive continuous improvement initiatives that increase efficiency, accuracy, and scalability across engineering operations.
  • Contribute to the adoption of emerging technologies shaping the future of the built environment.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
  • 8+ years of mechanical engineering design experience.
  • Strong background in HVAC, hydronic systems, and mission-critical infrastructure.
  • Experience designing complex building systems within data centers, critical facilities, healthcare, industrial, or similarly demanding environments.
  • Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, and engineering calculation tools.
  • Understanding of HVAC controls, DDC systems, and mechanical codes and standards.
  • Proven ability to lead projects, mentor engineers, and manage client relationships.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a remote, highly collaborative environment.
