Heavy Civil / Marine Project Engineer

Location: Coos Bay, Oregon
Industry: General Contracting - Heavy Civil & Marine Construction
Salary: $80,000- $100,000 + Bonus(s)

A well-established General Contractor based in Coos Bay, OR is seeking a qualified Project Engineer with experience in heavy civil and/or marine construction. This is a full-time opportunity to contribute to impactful infrastructure projects in a collaborative and safety-focused environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in planning, scheduling, and execution of heavy civil and marine construction projects.
  • Support project managers with cost tracking, change orders, RFIs, and submittals.
  • Coordinate with field crews, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
  • Maintain project documentation and ensure compliance with contract requirements.
  • Participate in site visits, inspections, and progress meetings.
  • Contribute to safety planning and quality control efforts.

Experience Required

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in heavy civil and/or marine construction.
  • Familiarity with bridge, pier, dock, dredging, or shoreline stabilization projects is preferred.
  • Experience working on public works or government-funded projects is a plus.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Proficiency in project management and scheduling software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project).
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • Willingness to travel to project sites and work in field conditions as needed.
  • Valid driver's license.
