The Opportunity

We are seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to join our client's growing team in Nashville, Tennessee.

This position will play a key role in leading engineering teams through the design and analysis of structural systems for a broad range of projects across sectors including:

• Manufacturing
• Distribution and logistics
• Data centers
• Commercial facilities
• Historic preservation
• Adaptive reuse
• Building renovations

The successful candidate will serve as a technical leader, mentor junior engineers, oversee project delivery, and maintain strong client relationships. This role offers long-term career advancement opportunities through either a technical specialist or engineering leadership path.

Key Responsibilities

• Participate in client, architect, owner, and contractor meetings.
• Lead and mentor junior and mid-level engineering staff.
• Oversee structural design calculations and construction document preparation.
• Review shop drawings, submittals, RFIs, and field reports.
• Coordinate project information across multiple disciplines to ensure quality deliverables.
• Ensure projects meet client requirements, industry standards, and internal quality expectations.
• Perform QA/QC reviews of engineering work completed by team members.
• Provide technical oversight and guidance throughout project execution.
• Support employee development through coaching, mentoring, training, and career growth initiatives.
• Assist with project planning, resource allocation, and overall project management.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil, Structural, or related Engineering field required.
• Master's Degree preferred.
• Active Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• Structural Engineer (SE) licensure preferred.
• Minimum of 8 years of structural engineering experience focused on building design.
• Proven project management experience and ability to manage multiple concurrent projects.
• Experience leading engineering teams and mentoring junior staff preferred.
• Strong understanding of structural design principles and building codes.
• Experience designing structuresutilizing:
  • Structural steel
  • Reinforced concrete
  • Masonry systems
  • Low- to mid-rise building structures
• Proficiency using industry-standard structural engineering software such as:
  • Tekla Structural Designer
  • ETABS
  • SAFE
  • SAP2000
  • RAM products
  • RISA
  • EnerCalc
  • Adapt
  • Microsoft Office Suite
• Working knowledge of Revit preferred.
• Previous client-facing experience preferred.

Compensation & Benefits

Base Salary: $110,000 - $160,000 annually, commensurate with experience, qualifications, licensure, and overall fit for the role.
