The Opportunity
We are seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to join our client's growing team in Nashville, Tennessee.
This position will play a key role in leading engineering teams through the design and analysis of structural systems for a broad range of projects across sectors including:
- Manufacturing
- Distribution and logistics
- Data centers
- Commercial facilities
- Historic preservation
- Adaptive reuse
- Building renovations
The successful candidate will serve as a technical leader, mentor junior engineers, oversee project delivery, and maintain strong client relationships. This role offers long-term career advancement opportunities through either a technical specialist or engineering leadership path.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in client, architect, owner, and contractor meetings.
- Lead and mentor junior and mid-level engineering staff.
- Oversee structural design calculations and construction document preparation.
- Review shop drawings, submittals, RFIs, and field reports.
- Coordinate project information across multiple disciplines to ensure quality deliverables.
- Ensure projects meet client requirements, industry standards, and internal quality expectations.
- Perform QA/QC reviews of engineering work completed by team members.
- Provide technical oversight and guidance throughout project execution.
- Support employee development through coaching, mentoring, training, and career growth initiatives.
- Assist with project planning, resource allocation, and overall project management.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil, Structural, or related Engineering field required.
- Master's Degree preferred.
- Active Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
- Structural Engineer (SE) licensure preferred.
- Minimum of 8 years of structural engineering experience focused on building design.
- Proven project management experience and ability to manage multiple concurrent projects.
- Experience leading engineering teams and mentoring junior staff preferred.
- Strong understanding of structural design principles and building codes.
- Experience designing structuresutilizing:
- Structural steel
- Reinforced concrete
- Masonry systems
- Low- to mid-rise building structures
- Proficiency using industry-standard structural engineering software such as:
- Tekla Structural Designer
- ETABS
- SAFE
- SAP2000
- RAM products
- RISA
- EnerCalc
- Adapt
- Microsoft Office Suite
- Working knowledge of Revit preferred.
- Previous client-facing experience preferred.

Compensation & Benefits
Base Salary: $110,000 - $160,000 annually, commensurate with experience, qualifications, licensure, and overall fit for the role.
