Utility Scale Engineering Project Manager
Lead the Growth of a Utility-Scale Renewable Energy Platform
A growing renewable energy engineering and project delivery firm is seeking a Project Manager with a strong engineering background to help expand its utility-scale solar and energy storage business. This role will work directly with senior leadership and engineering teams to drive projects from development through commissioning while helping establish processes, standards, and best practices for a rapidly growing utility-scale division.

Responsibilities
- Manage utility-scale solar PV and battery energy storage (BESS) projects throughout the entire project lifecycle
- Coordinate engineering, procurement, permitting, construction, commissioning, and closeout activities
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, utilities, contractors, and project stakeholders
- Partner closely with engineering leadership to ensure projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and to quality standards
- Lead project planning, scheduling, budgeting, risk management, and resource allocation
- Review technical deliverables and facilitate communication between engineering and field teams
- Support utility interconnection efforts and coordination with AHJs, utilities, consultants, and EPC partners
- Manage project documentation, contract compliance, and reporting requirements
- Identify opportunities to improve project execution processes as the utility-scale team continues to grow
- Mentor junior project team members and contribute to the development of a high-performing organization
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
- 5+ years of project management experience in utility-scale solar, BESS, power generation, transmission, or related infrastructure projects
- Engineering background with the ability to understand and review technical project deliverables
- Experience managing multi-million-dollar renewable energy or power projects
- Strong understanding of project scheduling, budgeting, risk management, and construction processes
- Experience coordinating cross-functional teams, contractors, consultants, and clients
- Familiarity with renewable energy project development, interconnection, permitting, and construction activities
- PMP, PE, or other professional certifications are a plus
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
