About Our Client
Our client is a global semiconductor manufacturer operating high-volume advanced manufacturing facilities across South Asia and the wider international network.
The Global Facilities and Construction organisation is seeking a Staff Engineer to provide technical ownership and project support for semiconductor chemical systems.
The Role
This is a senior individual-contributor role focused on the design, operation, reliability and expansion of semiconductor chemical-distribution infrastructure.
The successful candidate will act as the Chemical Systems specialist, supporting ongoing facility operations as well as construction, capacity expansion, tool-installation and commissioning programmes.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical ownership for semiconductor chemical facilities and distribution systems
- Support the design, review and implementation of system expansions and upgrades
- Review PFDs, P&IDs, equipment specifications, layouts and control philosophies
- Evaluate capacity, redundancy, system performance and future production requirements
- Coordinate with project teams, contractors, consultants, vendors and fab stakeholders
- Support construction, installation, testing, commissioning and operational handover
- Lead troubleshooting, root-cause analysis and reliability improvement initiatives
- Develop technical solutions for recurring operational and system-performance issues
- Support maintenance strategies, procedures and operational Best Known Methods
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental and hazardous-chemical requirements
- Provide technical guidance during fab ramp-up, process-tool installation and infrastructure changes
Candidate Requirements
- Degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Environmental or related Engineering discipline
- Strong semiconductor facilities experience involving chemical-distribution systems
- Technical knowledge of:
- Bulk and specialty chemical delivery
- Slurry systems
- Chemical cabinets and valve manifold boxes
- High-purity piping
- Chemical blending and distribution
- Hazardous-chemical detection and containment
- Control and emergency-shutdown systems
- Experience across operations, design review, construction support and commissioning
- Strong troubleshooting and root-cause-analysis capability
- Ability to work independently as a technical subject-matter expert
- Experience coordinating contractors, suppliers and multidisciplinary engineering teams
- Strong English communication and stakeholder-management skills
- Regional or multi-site support experience is advantageous
