Heavy Civil Project Manager (Remote)

Our client is seeking an experienced Heavy Civil Project Manager to join their team and lead key infrastructure projects across Northern California. This role is fully remote, offering maximum flexibility, with the option to work from their Pleasant Hill office whenever you prefer. This is an excellent opportunity for a self-driven project manager who thrives in managing complex heavy civil projects while working in a supportive and collaborative environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the full project lifecycle-including planning, scheduling, budgeting, subcontractor management, and execution-for heavy civil construction projects.
  • Oversee day-to-day project operations to ensure safety, quality, and efficiency.
  • Coordinate and communicate with clients, field teams, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Prepare and review project documentation, including RFIs, submittals, change orders, and cost reports.
  • Monitor project progress and proactively identify and resolve issues.
  • Conduct occasional site visits to active projects across Northern California (this is the only in-person requirement).
  • Ensure compliance with contract specifications, industry standards, and company safety protocols.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of heavy civil construction experience in one or more of the following areas:
    • Heavy roadway/highway construction
    • Paving and grading
    • Underground utilities (wet and/or dry)
  • Strong understanding of project controls, scheduling, and cost management.
  • Proficiency with construction management software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam, P6, MS Project).
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a remote work environment.
  • Must be based in Northern California or willing to commute to Northern California projects for site visits as needed.
