Construction Project Manager (Solar)

Full-Time | Indianapolis, IN (Travel Required)

A growing renewable energy company is looking for a Construction Project Manager to oversee commercial solar and energy storage projects across the Midwest.

This role will be responsible for managing projects from pre-construction through completion, ensuring they are delivered safely, on time, and within budget. The position requires close coordination with subcontractors, internal teams, and clients.

This role is based in Indianapolis, IN with travel throughout Indiana and Illinois.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage multiple commercial solar projects from kickoff through completion
• Develop and maintain project schedules; coordinate subcontractors, materials, and vendors
• Track project progress and proactively resolve issues
• Oversee permitting, inspections, and procurement processes
• Maintain clear communication with internal teams, clients, and field crews
• Lead project meetings and provide status updates
• Manage project documentation including contracts, POs, and interconnection paperwork
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and local/state requirements
• Support pre-construction and estimating as needed
• Track budgets, costs, and billing processes

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in construction project management (solar, electrical, or commercial preferred)
• Experience managing multiple active job sites
• Familiarity with permitting and utility interconnection processes
• Strong scheduling, budgeting, and subcontractor management skills
• Excellent communication and organizational abilities
• Proficiency in standard project management tools and Microsoft Office
• Team-oriented with a proactive, hands-on approach

Work Environment

• Combination of office and field-based work
• Regular travel to job sites required
• Ability to work in active construction environments and varying conditions
