Senior Drainage Engineer

I'm partnering with a well-established engineering consulting firm that is looking to add a Senior Drainage Engineer to its transportation practice in Utah.
This role offers the opportunity to lead drainage and hydraulic design efforts on a variety of complex transportation projects while helping mentor and grow a local team. The organization has a strong backlog of transportation work and is recognized for delivering major roadway and infrastructure improvements across the western United States.
What You'll Be Doing
- Lead drainage design efforts for highway, roadway, interchange, and transportation improvement projects
- Perform hydrologic and hydraulic analyses for transportation and infrastructure developments
- Design stormwater systems, culverts, detention facilities, bridge drainage, and related infrastructure
- Oversee technical deliverables and provide quality control for design work
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary project teams and external stakeholders
- Serve as a technical resource for clients and project teams
- Support the development and mentoring of junior engineers
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Water Resources Engineering, or a related field
- Approximately 10+ years of experience in drainage, hydrology, and hydraulic design
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required
- Experience supporting transportation infrastructure projects
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with project teams and clients
Preferred Experience
- Advanced degree in a relevant engineering discipline
- Experience working on state DOT transportation projects
- Familiarity with HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, OpenRoads, Civil 3D, or similar software
- Background in floodplain, bridge hydraulics, or stormwater management design
Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary typically ranging from $110,000 - $175,000, depending on experience and qualifications
