A reputable General Contractor in the Seattle area is seeking an experienced Heavy Civil Superintendent to lead field operations on complex infrastructure projects. This is a full-time opportunity for a hands-on leader who thrives in dynamic environments and is committed to safety, quality, and schedule.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily field operations for heavy civil construction projects.
- Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and field crews to ensure efficient workflow.
- Enforce safety protocols and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.
- Monitor project schedules and budgets, reporting progress to project management.
- Conduct site inspections and quality control checks.
- Resolve field issues and adapt plans to maintain productivity and timelines.
- Maintain accurate documentation including daily reports, logs, and schedules.
Experience Required
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in heavy civil construction, with at least 3 years in a superintendent role.
- Proven experience managing earthwork, utilities, concrete structures, grading, and roadwork.
- Experience with DOT, municipal, or public works projects is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of construction sequencing and field coordination.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or degree in construction-related field preferred.
- Proficiency in construction management software (e.g., Procore, HCSS, Bluebeam).
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and schedules.
- OSHA 30 certification preferred.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to job sites throughout the Seattle area.
