Heavy Civil Superintendent

A reputable General Contractor in the Seattle area is seeking an experienced Heavy Civil Superintendent to lead field operations on complex infrastructure projects. This is a full-time opportunity for a hands-on leader who thrives in dynamic environments and is committed to safety, quality, and schedule.


Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily field operations for heavy civil construction projects.
  • Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and field crews to ensure efficient workflow.
  • Enforce safety protocols and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor project schedules and budgets, reporting progress to project management.
  • Conduct site inspections and quality control checks.
  • Resolve field issues and adapt plans to maintain productivity and timelines.
  • Maintain accurate documentation including daily reports, logs, and schedules.

Experience Required

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in heavy civil construction, with at least 3 years in a superintendent role.
  • Proven experience managing earthwork, utilities, concrete structures, grading, and roadwork.
  • Experience with DOT, municipal, or public works projects is highly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of construction sequencing and field coordination.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or degree in construction-related field preferred.
  • Proficiency in construction management software (e.g., Procore, HCSS, Bluebeam).
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and schedules.
  • OSHA 30 certification preferred.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to job sites throughout the Seattle area.
